As you all know our blog mascot is the Tortoise. Therefore, when I came across this article in the New York Times I felt obligated to make it a post. It's about the saga of the last two Yangtze giant soft-shells that exist and they are in China. The threatened state of wildlife is a result of pollution, hunting and rampant development.
