I’d like to announce another movie screening opportunity in AMC 24 Aventura. The AMC 24 Aventura movie theatre is the best location to watch movies in Aventura, Florida. Usually the movies are packed with people, so in order to get tickets to regular movie showtimes I suggest checking for movie showtimes in Aventura mall on the AMC website. Take a look at this link with the showtimes and feature films in AMC 24 Aventura. The tickets for this screening are limited seating and getting a ticket does not mean you get a seat, so if you get a ticket get there early.The screening is on Tuesday, February 19th at AMC 24 Aventura at 7:30 pm.

Jack Black stars in Be Kind Rewind, a one-of-a-kind comedy from the mind of writer/director Michel Gondry (Dave Chappelle's Block Party, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). Black stars as a loveable loser stuck in a life that's too small for his big dreams. But when he unintentionally erases all the tapes in a video store where his best friend works, he devises a plan to satisfy the store's few loyal customers by re-creating and re-filming every movie they decide to rent. Be Kind Rewind features a cast that includes Mos Def, Danny Glover, and Mia Farrow. It is scheduled for a February 22, 2008 release.

The Kite Runner AMC Aventura 24

This weekend several epic films will be hitting the big screen at AMC Aventura 24 in the Aventura Mall - The Kite Runner, National Treasure and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. The Kite Runner is the film I'm going to see at the Aventura Mall this weekend.

No, I didn't read the book. I saw the cool cover at Border's Books, but have zero time to dive into a new story. Instead, I did some research on the Internet and I'd like to share that information with you.





Story Summary -

The Kite Runner tells the story of Amir, a well-to-do Pashtun boy from the Wazir Akbar Khan district of Kabul, who is haunted by the guilt of betraying his childhood friend Hassan, the son of his father's Hazara servant. The story is set against a backdrop of tumultuous events, from the fall of the monarchy in Afghanistan through the Soviet invasion, the mass exodus of refugees to Pakistan and the United States, and the Taliban regime.

Assef's vow comes true during the day of Amir's favorite sport: "kite fighting". In this sport, children fly their kites and try to cut each other's kite. Hassan has a gift to know where the cut kite will land before it is even cut. Amir wins the tournament, and Baba's praise, with his kite the last one flying, but when Hassan goes to fetch the last cut kite, a great trophy, Assef and two henchmen are there instead. Hassan tries to protect Amir's kite, but Assef beats Hassan and sodomizes him. Amir hides and watches Hassan and is too scared to help him. Afterwards, Hassan becomes emotionally downcast. Amir knows why but keeps it a secret, and things are never the same between the two. After hearing a story from Rahim Khan, Amir decides it would be best for Hassan to go away. Amir frames Hassan as a thief but Baba forgives him, even though he admits to committing the crime - and despite the fact that Baba believes that "there is no act more wretched than stealing". Hassan and his father Ali, to Baba's extreme sorrow, decide that it's time to leave. All Amir wanted was his Baba to be proud of him and getting Hassan out of the picture was the only way.

THE GOLDEN COMPASS AMC AVENTURA 24

The Golden Compass is coming out this weekend. This film is expected to be an epic fantasy adventure, thrilling audiences with its amazing story, special effects and graphics. It will be a popular pick at the AMC Aventura 24 movie theatre in the Aventura Mall. Make sure to get to the Aventura Mall early to buy your tickets and to get a good seat. There will likely be a huge line.

In case you are not aware of THE GOLDEN COMPASS film, here's a brief overview as posted on Wikipedia.

"The Golden Compass is a fantasy film based upon Northern Lights (titled The Golden Compass in the US), the first novel in Philip Pullman's trilogy His Dark Materials, and was released on December 5, 2007 by New Line Cinema. The story concerns Lyra, an orphan living in a fantastical parallel universe in which a dogmatic dictatorship, the Magisterium, threatens to dominate. When Lyra's friend is kidnapped, she travels to the far North in an attempt to rescue him."

LOVE IN THE TIME OF CHOLERA AMC AVENTURA 24

This post is the first of many relating to movies showing at AMC Aventura 24 in the Aventura Mall. As you all know, this blog has received attention from the Miami Herald and Aventura residents. This has translated into a wider audience and daily readers of our site content. In order to thank our readers, I will be offering free movie passes for pre-screenings to movies at AMC Aventura 24.
